The new OLG mobile gambling app doesn’t actually let customers place wagers. For that, they can download the PlayOLG.ca mobile casino app. This new application is designed to save players who already placed a bet some time, allowing them to check all their tickets instantly.

It’s called the OLG Lottery App, and it’s available for all Android and Apple iOS smartphones and tablets. According to provincial regulators, it’s exactly what players have been asking for.

A press release announcing the June 1, 2017 release explained, “Checking your lottery tickets has never been ore easy or more convenient.”

By downloading and opening the new mobile gambling app, ticket holders can instantly scan the code on each ticket to see if it’s a winner. The OLG Lottery app works on a variety of tickets, including traditional lottery tickets, instant scratch off tickets, and even sports betting tickets.

The new app could be especially convenient for those who buy a large number of tickets. Checking the winning lottery numbers yourself, then examining each ticket to see if it has any value, can be a time consuming process. And there’s always a margin for error.

Most high-volume players take their tickets to the local gas station, convenience mart or grocery store to have them checked by a retailer. While this is great for the player, ensuring no errors are made, it can certainly hold up the line during peak shopping times.

And, if a ticket happens to win a large amount of money – the kind you’d have to visit a lottery claims center to cash in – there’s always that underlying fear that some duplicitous person may be lurking nearby, waiting to jump you and steal the ticket on your way out the door.
